- (colloquial) a male friend, a buddy, a pal
- tiklīdz kuģis ostā, otrā dienā jau visi “čomiņi” lapās ― as soon as the ship has entered the port (you can expect that) on the next day all the "fellows" will be gone[2]
- ar tēvu sapratāmies kā čomi ― me and my father got along (alternatively "were on the same page") like good friends ~ buddies[3]
