1. (colloquial) wow (interjection denoting surprise)

   Μπα, για κοίτα ποιος ήρθε!‎ ― Mpa, gia koíta poios írthe! ― Wow, look who came!

2. (colloquial) nope, nah, bah (casual interjection denoting 'no' or 'not')

   Νομίζεις ότι θα έρθει; Μπα, σιγά μην έρθει!‎ ― Nomízeis óti tha érthei? Mpa, sigá min érthei! ― Do you think she'll come? Nah, as if she will!

3. (colloquial) an interjection denoting indignation or discomfort:

   Μπα, τον παλιάνθρωπο, τι μου έκανε!‎ ― Mpa, ton paliánthropo, ti mou ékane! ― The bugger, see what he did to me!

4. (colloquial) an interjection denoting irony, often preceded with α:

   Είναι εγκληματίας; Α μπα, ιδέα σου!‎ ― Eínai enklimatías? A mpa, idéa sou! ― So he's a criminal? No, you think!?
