From Ancient Greek ἀνθολογία ‎(anthología, “flower-gathering”), from ἀνθολογέω ‎(anthologéō, “I gather flowers”), from ἄνθος ‎(ánthos, “flower”) + λέγω ‎(légō, “I gather, pick up, collect”).
