1. (transitive) (He/it) stole (something).
   • Ezekiel 18:12, with Young's Literal Translation:

     עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן הוֹנָה גְּזֵלוֹת גָּזָל‎

     The afflicted and needy he hath oppressed, Plunder he hath taken violently away

2. (intransitive) (He/it) stole.
   • c. 200, Mishnah, Bava Kamma chapter 10:

     הגוזל ומאכיל את בניו והניח לפניהם פטורים מלשלם‎

     [If] one who stole [something] and fed it to his children, or left it in front of them, [the children] are exempt from making restitution.

3. (ditransitive) (He/it) stole (something) from (someone).
