Usage notes

This refers to simple receipts from cash registers and the like, rather than formal ones. Receipts with a field for the person or company paying and the sign or seal of the organization providing the good or service are known as 領収書 ‎(りょうしゅうしょ, ryōshūsho), not by this term.
