Less offensive than 日本鬼子 (Rìběn guǐzi).
Literally, "small Japanese", an offensive word for someone from Japan, popular in wartime and often found in anti-Japanese films. In WWII, the Chinese thought the Japanese were shorter in stature than the Chinese.
