• Fredrik Otto Lindeman, in Ériu (journal) (1990), page 124: Watkins [...] takes Luwian wa-a-ar-sa (in the sentence [w]a-a-ar-sa-at-ta ID-ti[na-n]a-am-ma-an 'The water is led from the river') to be a neuter noun wa-a-ar 'water'[. ...] in the -sa (of warsa) he sees Carruba's '-sa case' [... saying] '...the broken passive participle -amman is clearly neuter singular; wa-a-ar-ša cannot be neuter plural'. I find this most unconvincing. Luwian warsa, if neuter plural, can be from < IE *wérsā 'rain'[.]
