Usage notes
  • After verb stems ending in consonants this suffix demands an epenthetic short vowel regardless of usual Mongolian syllabification rules.
  • Some words with this suffix became fully lexicalized nouns and were written with the variant ᠬᠤᠢ (qui) ending in classical Mongolian, pre-classical language and Cyrillic script do not make this distinction.
