(informal, rare) someone who has a negative or prejudiced opinion about dentists
Etymology
Alteration of antidentist, from anti- +dentist, to rhyme with anti-Semite. Coined in an episode of the American sitcom Seinfeld, in which Jerry Seinfeld is annoyed with his dentist who has apparently converted to Judaism only to be allowed to tell Jewish jokes. When Jerry counters this with a joke about dentists, he is called an “antidentite” because “I’m Jewish, you’re not a dentist”.
