Usage notes

• In Finnish legislation, asetus is a legal statute inferior to laki and it may be issued by the Government, the President of the Republic, the Supreme Court of Finland or individual Finnish ministries. Officially, the term "decree" is used as the sole translation of asetus into English, regardless of the issuing body.
