cherry-bomb (plural cherry-bombs)
- (sports, US, slang) A four square ball game term which basically means spiking the ball or slamming it down with a great force to make it hard for a person to retrieve it to stay in the game. A cherry-bomb with an even more impressive force would be called a tree-top.
