I have heard more proverbs and parables in the last few weeks among these people than I ever care to remember. They toss them out at the proverbial drop of a hat. Most of them are only marginally meaningful — at least in translation. Otherwise obscurans obscurantis! What is somewhat irksome is the habit of circumlocution that spawns these proverbs, the misdirection, obliquity, and intentional obscurity. Quite frequently, the meaning or insight in question isn’t worth the elaborate disguise so tediously constructed around it.
