1. across

   Naštěstí přes řeku vedl most. — Fortunately, there was a bridge across the river.

2. via (by way of; passing through)

   Jeli z New Yorku do Los Angeles přes Omahu. — They drove from New York to Los Angeles via Omaha.

3. despite, in spite of

   Přes výslovný zákaz vstoupil na pozemek.

Usage notes

Some uses of the English sense of "via" are translated into Czech without a preposition:

Do budovy můžete vstoupit západní branou. — You can enter the building via the western gate.
