From Old Turkictoγru "direct; correct; just", from Proto-Turkic, apparently via a
Karluk source (compare Uzbekto'g'ri(“straight, direct”), Uyghurтоғра(toghra, “correct”)), such as Literary Chagatai. This is indicated by a pecualiar semantic shift and the retention of -ğ-.
Compare with native тура(tura, “straight, direct”), which developed along the regular Kypchak path way from the same Turkic archetype.
