Usage notes

The perfective converb in Armenian denotes a perfection, a finality of an action. Together with an auxiliary verb it forms the present perfect and pluperfect tenses of the indicative mood.

• Infinitive: գնալ ‎(gnal) (gnal) — to go
• Perfective converb: գնացել (gnac’el) — gone
  • Present perfect: գնացել եմ (gnac’el em) — I have gone
  • Present perfect: գնացել էի (gnac’el ēi) — I had gone
