אֵשׁ • ‎(esh) f ‎(plural indefinite אִשִּׁים, singular construct אֵשׁ־, plural construct אִשֵּׁי־) [pattern: קֵטֶל]

1. (usually uncountable) Fire, a fire, a flame.
   • Exodus 3:2

     וַיֵּרָא מַלְאַךְ ה׳ אֵלָיו בְּלַבַּת אֵשׁ מִתּוֹךְ הַסְּנֶה וַיַּרְא וְהִנֵּה הַסְּנֶה בֹּעֵר בָּאֵשׁ וְהַסְּנֶה אֵינֶנּוּ אֻכָּל׃

   • אבינו מלכנו

     אָבִינוּ מַלְכֵּנוּ עֲשֵׂה לְמַעַן בָּאֵי בָּאֵשׁ וּבַמַּיִם עַל קִדּוּשׁ שְׁמֶךָ.

Usage notes

• The plural אִשִּׁים ‎(ishím) is not used in Modern Hebrew.
