מַחְמָד • ‎(makhmád) m ‎(plural indefinite מַחְמַדִּים, singular construct מַחְמַד־, plural construct מַחְמַדֵּי־) [pattern: מִקְטָל]

1. A pleasant or lovely thing.
   • 1 Kings 20:6, with translation of the King James Version:

     […] כָּל־מַחְמַד עֵינֶיךָ יָשִׂימוּ בְיָדָם וְלָקָחוּ׃

     […] kol-makhmád einékha yasímu b'yadám v'lakákhu.

     Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
