1. judge (public officer authorised to hear and decide cases in a court of law).

Usage notes

In the modern judicial system of Thailand, the present term only refers to a judicial officer of a court of justice. A judicial officer of any other court is referred to as ตุลาการ ‎(dtù-laa-gaan). Thai judges, irrespective of their courts, are formally called ข้าราชการตุลาการ ‎(kâa-râat-chá-gaan-dtù-laa-gaan, “judicial officers”).
