1. to be intoxicated, as with alcoholic beverage, drug, etc.
   • เมาเหล้า‎

     mao lâo

     To be drunk.
     (literally) To be intoxicated with liquor.

   • เมากัญชา‎

     mao gan-chaa

     To be intoxicated with cannabis.

2. to nauseate; have a queasy and dizzy sensation.
   • เมาตด‎

     mao dtòt

     To be nauseated by a fart (intestinal gas).

   • เมาหมัด‎

     mao màt

     To be punch drunk.

   • เมารถ‎

     mao rʉʉa

     To be carsick.
     (literally) To be nauseated by a wheeled vehicle.

   • เมาเรือ‎

     mao เรือ

     To be seasick.
     (literally) To be nauseated by a vessel.

3. to lose conscience because of absorption in, addiction to, or infatuation with someone or something, as power, authority, wealth, praise, honour, etc.
