真っ向 ‎(hiragana まっこう, romaji makkō)

1. directly opposite, right in front

   Often followed by から to mean squarely, head on, or directly.

   韓国 (かんこく)の主権 (しゅけん)に真 (ま)っ向 (こう)から挑発 (ちょうはつ)する行為 (こうい)でもある。

   Kankoku no shuken ni makkō kara chōhatsu suru kōi demo aru.

   It's also an act of direct provocation against Korea's sovereignty.
