• This two-handed ASL sign is produced with a sad expression on the face:
  1. 
     Posture the nondominant hand in the “5” handshape a few inches in front of the nondominant side of the face, nondominant palm facing back. Posture the dominant hand in the “5” handshape a few inches in front of the dominant side of the face, dominant palm facing back.
  2. Move both hands down to the following posture.
  3. 
     Posture the nondominant hand in the “5” handshape a few inches in front of the nondominant side of the neck, nondominant palm facing back. Posture the dominant hand in the “5” handshape a few inches in front of the dominant side of the neck, dominant palm facing back.
  4. Hold both hands briefly in this posture.
• The degree or type of sadness can be indicated with various nuanced facial expressions and by slowing the downward movement or holding the final posture longer.
