Production

  • This two-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
    1. Posture the nondominant hand in the “bent B” handshape about half arm's length in front of the nondominant side of the trunk, backs of the extended or bent fingers of the nondominant hand facing down. Posture the dominant hand in the “bent B” handshape within a several inches of the tip of the extended finger on the nondominant hand, backs of the extended or bent fingers of the dominant hand facing down.
    2. Move the hands toward each other so the finger tips meet in the following posture.
    3. Posture the nondominant hand in the “bent B” handshape about half an arm's length in front of the center of the trunk (typically with the upper arm hanging straight down from the shoulder, the elbow bent at a right angle, and the forearm pointing diagonally ahead from the elbow), backs of the extended or bent fingers of the nondominant hand facing down. Posture the dominant hand in the “bent B” handshape touching the tip(s) of the extended finger(s) of the nondominant hand, backs of the extended or bent fingers of the dominant hand facing down.
