Usage notes

• In the process of revising taxonomic groupings to reflect DNA evidence, the members of this group have been placed largely in groups of lower rank, Maleae (tribe) or Malinae (subtribe), which are now often placed in the subfamily Amygdaloideae in Rosaceae.
