Etymology

From Old Sicilian anguni, possibly from Ancient Greek ἀγκών ‎(“elbow”), or from the Latin prefix in + Ancient Greek γωνία ‎(gōnía, “corner angle”). Alternatively, possibly from a Vulgar Latin *angulōnem, from Latin angulus (through hypothetical older Sicilian forms *anguluni > *anghiuni).
