1. to catch a cold; congest
2. to close one's pores, preventing transpiration.

Usage notes

• Usually used with reflexive pronouns: "Me he constipado".
• Constiparse is a false friend, and does not mean "to constipate". The word for "to constipate" in Spanish is estreñir.
