1. part (a certain amount or piece from a whole; not all, not everything)

   saule apspīd daļu istabas‎ ― the sun shines on part of the room

   pa daļai‎ ― in part

   pa daļām‎ ― gradually (lit. by parts)

2. part (each of the pieces resulting from the division of a whole)

   sadalīt ēdamo vienlīdzīgās daļās‎ ― to divide the food into equal parts
