electromagnetic pulse (plural electromagnetic pulses)
- A short-duration burst of high-intensity electromagnetic radiation generated by a physical event, in particular by a large thermonuclear explosion in the atmosphere. The pulse causes a damaging surge of voltage within electrical and electronic systems.
