flutur f (indefinite plural flutra, definite singular flutra, definite plural flutrat)
Either from Proto-Albanian *splutura (cf. Latin papilio 'id.', Old Saxon fifaldra (“id”)), close to Old English floterian, flotorian (“to float about, flutter”), Low German fluttern, fluddern (“to flutter”) or more likely from Proto-Albanian *flugtur, a formation from flug (cf. butë). See flatër (“wing”). Compare also the related Romanian fluture.
