Usage notes

• For the means of transport, Czech uses the preposition na (on) and the locative case, or the instrumental case without a preposition.

  jezdit na kole - to ride a bike

  jezdit vlakem - to go by train

• While the word jet refers to a single journey, jezdit implies repeated action.

  Pojedeš tam autem nebo autobusem? - Will you go there by car or by bus?

  Do práce jezdil tramvají. - He used to go to work by tram.
