kallm m (indefinite plural kallma, definite singular kallmi, definite plural kallmat)
Cognate with Finnish kylmä and Estonian külm.
kallm
From Proto-Indo-European *ḱolh₂-m-, enlargment of *kolH- 'awn' (cf. kalli). Compare Ancient Greek κάλαμος (kálamos, “reed”), Latin culmus (“haulm”), Old High German halam, Old Prussian salme (“straw”). A loan from Ancient Greek is not excluded.
