n3
Egyptian
Pronoun
|
masculine singular
Usage notes
This demonstrative can be used alone, as a pronoun. It is used as a demonstrative for plural nouns of either grammatical gender. In this capacity it precedes the noun, with the genitival adjective n in between, e.g. "the feet" is n3 n rdw (literally "this of feet").
In Middle Egyptian, this pronoun was colloquial - in Late Egyptian its force had weakened to that of a definite article.
