Kuiper tentatively compares Nihalipȧda with Nostratic*p'at'a ("to beat"), which gave Proto-Semitic*√p˖t˖t(“to break into small pieces”), Proto-Kartvelian*petk-(“to explode, to beat (of heart)”), and Proto-Altaic*p'at'V(“compare Proto-Tungusic *pāt- ("to strike, hit"), Proto-Turkic*at-(“to beat”)”).[1]
