1. to be/get in a tight spot; to be backed into a corner
2. (figuratively) to run out of arguments; to be unable to answer an argument

Usage notes

• Sıkışmak should not be confused with sikişmek ("to ****"). Fatal arguments have broken out over text messages which used sikişmek when sıkışmak was intended.^[1]
