swarz
From Proto-Germanic *swartaz, whence also Old Saxon swart, Old English sweart (as well as its Modern English derivitives sward, swart, swarth and swarthy), Old Norse svartr, Gothic 𐍃𐍅𐌰𐍂𐍄𐍃 (swarts). Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *swordo- (“dirty, dark, black”).
