Either from Proto-Albanian *tśōr-, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱeh3-(i-) 'to sharpen, whet'^[1], or from Proto-Indo-European *derə- ‎(“to tear, tear apart”) (compare Ancient Greek δέρω ‎(dérō, “to skin”), Old English teran ‎(“to tear, lacerate”), German zehren ‎(“to consume, misuse”)).
