Etymology
From Proto-Albanian*diš-ūd-tja, a similar formation to mbys, from Proto-Indo-European*u̯ed, *ud(“water”)[1]. Alternatively, to be compared with Lithuanian žū́ti(“perish”), žudýti(“slay”), Latvian zùdu(“disappear, get lost”), zaudêt(“lose”), Middle Irish gúas(“danger, peril, jeopardy”).
