Old Armenian

Etymology

From Akkadian 𒅇𒆪𒊒𒌝 (agurru, ukurru [Ù.KU.RU.UM]), according to Diakonoff either directly from it or mediated by Hurrian. But because the word is attested late, Ačaṙean and J̌ahukyan prefer Persian آﮔور (âgur) as the immediate source for the Armenian.
