1. standard work for a particular branch of study or knowledge, as ตำราเรียน ‎(“textbook”), ตำราอาหาร ‎(“cookbook”), etc.
2. (archaic) edict, decree, or command of a monarch.

     The seal of the divine wielder of discus and sword shall be used by Earl Si Phuri Prichathirat, the chief of the scribal department. Should His Majesty issue to any person a royal edict on monastic slaves, monastic attendants, fields, or taxes, the seal shall be affixed to the top of that royal edict.
