-sködik

1. (verbal suffix) Added to nouns to create intransitive verbs to express that someone behaves or acts like the base noun. The verbs often have a pejorative meaning.

   főnök ‎(“boss”) → főnökösködik ‎(“to be bossy, to behave like a boss; to work as a boss”)

Usage notes

• Harmonic variants:

  -skodik is added to back vowel words

  -skedik is added to unrounded front vowel words

  -sködik is added to rounded front vowel words
