The noun sense has practically ceased to exist in modern Finnish. Some cases are used as adverbs, and the lemma ohi has become a preposition and postposition (see corresponding sections below). It's also used as prefix or modifier in compound terms.

Usage notes

  • Only the inflected forms of ohi may assume a possessive suffix. Thus instead of "ohi" + possessive suffix one must use '"ohitse" + possessive suffix, as in one of the examples above.
