Etymology
A z- prefixed form of varrë, from Proto-Albanian*varsa, from Proto-Indo-European*u̯ers(“to drag on the ground”). Compare Hittite u̯arš(“pluck, reap”), Ancient Greek ἔρρω(érrhō, “go away, disappear”), Latin verro(“to drag, to sweep”), Old Norse vǫrr(“stroke”), Latvian vârsms(“heap of corn, grain”)[1].
