гӯш • (güš)
From Middle Persian 𐭢𐭥𐭱 (gōš), from Old Persian 𐎥𐎢𐏁 (gauša-, “ear”), from Proto-Iranian *gauš-, from Proto-Indo-Iranian [Term?]. Cognate with Sanskrit घोष (ghoṣa), Avestan 𐬔𐬀𐬊𐬱𐬀 (gaoša-), Baluchi گوش (goš), Kurdish guh, Ossetian хъус (qus) / гъос (ǧos), Old Armenian գոյշ (goyš) (a loanword), etc. Relations outside Indo-Iranian are doubtful.
