Etymology

From от- ‎(ot-) and -лѣкъ ‎(-lěkъ). The latter stems from Proto-Indo-European *loykʷ-, the o-grade of Proto-Indo-European *leykʷ-. Cognate to Lithuanian ãt-laikas, Ancient Greek λείπω ‎(leípō), Latin linquo, Proto-Germanic *līhwaną.
