խափանեմ • ‎(xapʿanem)  (aorist indicative խափանեցի)

1. (transitive) to hinder, to stop, to impede, to obstruct, to embarrass, to cross, to delay, to interrupt

   խափանել զճանապարհն, զանցս ուրուք‎ ― xapʿanel zčanaparhn, zancʿs urukʿ ― to stop the way or passage, to stop up, to obstruct, to encumber

   խափանել զերկիր‎ ― xapʿanel zerkir ― to encumber the earth

2. (transitive) to intercept
3. (transitive) to interdict, to prohibit
4. (transitive) to abolish, to abrogate, to annul, to revoke; to take away; to suppress
5. (in the mediopassive, intransitive) to be hindered, impeded, prohibited, forbidden
6. (in the mediopassive, intransitive) to cease, to remain suspended; to be abolished

   խափանել սովորութեան‎ ― xapʿanel sovorutʿean ― to fall in disuse
