Etymology
Since Müller connected with Sanskrit विष्टि (viṣṭi), विष्टी (viṣṭī, “forced service, compulsory work”) and considered an Iranian borrowing. Compare Khotanese āviṣṭa- (“troubled”), Sogdian ʾʾwyštk (“confused”).
