The word ܚܡܐ is one of only three nouns in the entire language that have an irregular possessive stem ending in the letter Waw; the other two being ܐܒܐ (ʾaḇāʾ, “father”) and ܐܚܐ (ʾaḥḥāʾ, “brother”).
