Usage notes

• As for the first sense, the term only refers to acts promulgated by a monarch, such as those enacted by the British parliament or Japanese diet. Regarding any other state than a monarchy, such as a republic, the term รัฐบัญญัติ ‎(rát-tà-ban-yàt) is used.
