Starostin compares with Proto-Altaic *k`aŕV (“to dig, to beat”) and Proto-Indo-European *kerǝ- (“to mix”).
Ačaṙean derives from Armenian: compare Old Armenian կռուիմ (kṙuim), կռիւ (kṙiw).
