Etymology
Attested only once in the first book of XI-century hymnographer Ezra of Mtatsminda.
According to Ačaṙean, borrowing from Old Armenian պատառ (pataṙ, “piece, morsel (of bread)”). The sense “little, small” of modern Georgian is present also in dialectal Armenian պատառ (pataṙ, “little, small”) and Udi пӏатӏар (ṗaṭar, “little, small”), also from Armenian.
