Compound of 汗 ‎(ase, "sweat") + uncertain element も or ぼ. According to one theory, this may be an alteration of 疣 ‎(ibo, imo, "wart, verruca"). This same ibo / imo element appears in the reading for 疱瘡 ‎(imogasa), an archaic word for a pockmark or a pox and sometimes shortened to just imo.
